MTNL has announced the launch of 3G services in Mumbai today, which will be commercially available to existing and new subscribers June 1 onwards. Curious to get your hands on the tariff they're offering? Before you lay your hungry eyes on on the Jadoo tariff in Mumbai, it's interesting to note that compared to Delhi, the commercial capital's subscribers will be paying lesser tariff for MTNL Jadoo 3G services.
Here are the details:
To get a taste of 3G services, a subscriber can opt to first try out Jadoo services with a '3G Trial Pack.' For Rs. 99, a subscriber can use this trial pack for 15 days, where he can download up to 50MB of data. Any excess data usage beyond this will cost the consumer Rs. 3 per MB.
3G Jadoo Tariff:
1.1 Postpaid 3G Plan - Using this, the customer can subscribe to any of the existing 2G plans for Voice and SMS being offered by MTNL. Along with this they can subscribe to 3G services, the tariff details of which are given below:
1. SIM card (one time) charges: Rs. 300 2. Voice calls and SMS will be charged as per the 2G plan opted by the consumer 3. Local video calls: a) On own network: Rs. 1.80 per minute b) On other networks: Rs. 3 per minute 4. STD video calls: Rs. 3.75 per minute 5. ISD video calls: Rs. 30 per minute
1.2 Prepaid Plan: The prepaid plans will be on the lines of postpaid plan, details of which will be revealed with the commercial launch on June 1.
2.1Postpaid 3G Data Packages
Please note that these tariffs are applicable in MTNL Mumbai Network only. Rs 10/MB will be charged for data usage while roaming in India.
2.2 Prepaid 3G Data Packages
The prepaid tariff is also applicable only on the MTNL Mumbai network. When roaming, any data usage beyond th e stipulated one will deduct Rs. 10 /MB from the users' prepaid balance.
3. HSDPA Service - Subscribers can also opt for HSDPA connectivity which will enable them to get broadband speeds on their HSDPA enabled smartphones as well as computer in 3G coverage area. This service can be availed for Rs. 149 with 60MB free data download and a month of validity on both, prepaid and postpaid plans.
