Cellphone major Nokia, under the wings of Forum Nokia, has called upon talented Flash developers to enter its Calling all Innovators contest to create and submit exceptional Flash Lite based applications.
Developers have the option to choose from various platforms that Nokia offers to develop their applications. As a developer, you will have the freedom to choose from Series 40, Series 60 and the Linux-based Maemo platform that includes the likes of the N810 and other N-series tablets. The latter possesses a full HTML browser (Webkit) and has full support for FLV playback.
The applications will be distributed through the Ovi Store with packaging solutions for S60 being (.sis) and for that of S40 being (.nfl ).
On S60, flash support has been extended to S60 access GPS location, calendar, camera and much more giving developers more leverage to create an even wider range of applications. And lastly, participating in this contest does come with it perks!
To start with, as a developer, you have the chance to win a cool $250,000 as prize money if you happen to be chosen as the best developer. If that isn't enough, there s an additional prize of $10,000 USD for one Flash application (over and above $ 250,000). Developers can also apply for funding under the Open Screen Project fund with the same application. Lastly, all your applications get a premium placement in Nokia s OVI store.
