    Asus Preps Up 11.6-inch Ultra-thin Eee PC

    Plans for more CULV ultra-thin notebooks this year

Asus president Jerry Shen has stated that the company will launch an 11.6-inch ultra-thin Eee PC notebook later this month. However, Asus is still considering the launch of more 10-inch Eee PC notebooks for the mainstream.



DigiTimes reported that 50 percent of total shipments will comprise of 10-inch Eee PC, while 30 per cent of it will comprise of 11.6-inch models. Asus also plans to come up with 15.6-inch XS15 Intel Consumer Ultra-Low Voltage processor based models for mid-rage and high-end segments.



In July, Asus will launch 15.6-inch XS15 priced between EUR 800-1000 (Rs 52,800-Rs. 66,000 approx.) and 13-inch model priced EUR 600-700 (Rs. 39500-Rs. 46,000 approx.).
The company also plans to introduce 14-inch models later this year, which will compete with the recently launched MSI X-Slim X400.
