If you have been following the Android story keenly, you might be aware of the fact the platform in its initial avatar had no widget support.
That, however, is all set to change with the new SDK that was announced recently. The Android Developers Blog has not only confirmed Widget support, but has also added a detailed method on how to integrate the widgets on to the home screen. Developers will have almost complete control over the widgets with things like appearance and the update intervals as Engadget puts it.
While there is still some time left for the official version of the Android 1.5 SDK release, you might want to know that the upcoming version of Android will sport accelerometer-based app rotation, an updated Web browser with the latest Webkit and Squirellfish (for JavaScript) versions and adds support for tabbed browsing as well!
