As reported earlier, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is all set to launch an Israeli-made spy satellite on Monday, April 20, 2009.

The RISAT is an advanced spy satellite designed by the Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) and has SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology that is capable of taking images, irrespective of cloud cover, weather conditions or even if its day or night. The satellite will be positioned about 550km above the Earth.

Along with RISAT, the Anusat , India's first student-made satellite too will go to space when the PSLV C12 lifts off from Sriharikota on Monday.

Considering its importance, there will be no live coverage of the launch as has been the usual custom. This is thought to be one of the security measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
