So, you're addicted to Facebook, but your friendly network administrator at the office blocked your beloved social networking site? Facebook folks are now offering you a solution.

The website is now accessible even on your non-smart phone. Well, partially of course.

This mobile service enables you to receive SMS texts with status updates, messages and wall posts, as they happen. You can also reply, send messages, and set your Facebook status via SMS.

You can also search or add friends, poke them, and comment on their activity right from your phone, simply with SMS.

In India, Facebook via SMS is currently being offered by Tata Indicom; they're charging Re. 1 for each SMS.

To activate this service, do the following:

1. You first need to register your mobile phone on Facebook [do it here.]
2. You'll then receive a confirmation code on your phone.
3. Once registered, you can start sending a text message to the short code 51555.

Henri Moissinac, Director of Mobile, Facebook says, "More than 30 million Facebook users currently access the site (Facebook) through their mobile devices. This number has quadrupled over the past year, and we expect it to grow."
