It looks similar to most other drives from below and there are no perforations or grills for ventilation. It is not required because it doesn't get hot.

We opened the drive to see what chipset it contained. The chipset used is a NEC MC-10045 instead of the MediaTek chipset, which is usually found in Lite-On drives. We will try to find if the burn quality is any different.

Some other advertised features of this drive are as follows. The drive adjusts the data extraction from optical discs to the fastest allowable speed according to disk quality. This drive also features the self-learning function that allows it to automatically detect and decide the optimal write strategy for DVDs according to past burning experiences.

The drive comes bundled with Nero 8 Essentials multimedia suite. This suite consists of different software to take care of just about all your multimedia needs.

This drive is pretty bad as dvd reader. There is no way to get quality score above 30% with so high PI eroors and failures. A check with DVDinfopro will give accurate result.

I bought it for 1150 in Chandigarh, delaer was kind enough to give me sata power & data cable but was shrewd enough to say that it comes with no Nero CD/DVD.
