Barely five months after the launch of the LG Cookie, LG has announced that it has already sold two million units of the mid range touch screen device.
In a press release issued by LG, the company states -
"More than 1.2 million gourmets have had a taste of LG Cookie in Europe, and 600,000 Cookies have been sold in Asia and the emerging markets, including Latin America. In Korea, LG Cookie is currently the most popular handset with 100,000 units in accumulated sales as of March this year and record one-day sales of 4,500 units".
Considering the current slowdown in the sales of phones and the overall trend of the economy, this is no mean achievement for the company. The LG Cookie offered a decent feature set at a not too steep price and that seems to have been an instant hit with the consumers. The company plans to spruce up the device with more color options to woo more users. It also has plans to expand into other markets where the Cookie is still to be released. As of now, it is only available in 40 countries across the globe, which will go up to 60 in the coming months.
