Microsoft is now believed to be gearing up to launch Zune with an updated hardware. This surely is good news for many who own Zune but fear that Microsoft might discontinue the portable media player.

Brian Seitz, a Zune team member wrote on Twitter - 'new zune hardware this year'. Microsoft has quietly watched Apple's iTunes and App Store business grow over a period of time and it's obvious that they are busy planning something on a similar line. Not to forget the recent rumors about Zune software integration in Windows Mobile 7 had cropped up on the web.

While Microsoft has plenty of time till Windows Mobile 7 is released, which is anticipated in 2010 summer, an entirely new Zune hardware will surely make their customers curious about any such marriage between Zune software with Mobile platform.
