Its time for another weekly Gaming round up where we take a sneak peek at the happenings in the gaming world. This week, Nintendo launched third iteration of Nintendo DS while Sony slashed price of PS 2. More updates on games shared by developers and some sneak previews stolen kept us busy. Here's a brief roundup!


New Nintendo DSi Launched 


Nintendo has launched new Nintendo DSi with larger screens, two low resolution cameras and new SD slot. The DSi has faster processor and phenomenally beefed RAM for faster browser rendering. Nintendo will also unveil new DSi Shop that will offer DSiWare downloadable games and applications for the DSi.



 


PlayStation 2 Now For $99 


Sony has decided to bring down the price of PlayStation 2 console below the $100 mark. The lifespan of the console got a well deserved extension by at least 2-3 years. More games for the PS 2 platform are en route from Indian Game Developers. But will the price drop attract more potential gamers looking to try their hands on with PS 2? 
 


Red Faction: Guerrilla to Release on June 9


Red Faction: Guerrilla is set on Mars and players get to play the role of insurgent fighters, 50 years after the original Red Faction and 45 years after Red Faction II was released. The fighters battle for liberation against the oppressive Earth Defense Force.


 


God of War III Footage Leaked


God of War III gameplay footage shown at the Game Developers Conference was leaked during the course of last week


The game has pumped up our expectations by leaps and bounds with new gameplay that includes a wall run like in the Prince of Persia games. Also, in terms of scale, now you'll have more enemies. Enjoy slicing and dicing the enemies in the HD format over PS3.


Mass Effect 2 Footage Leaked


Early developmental stage footage of Mass Effect 2 Was leaked online. The footage showed some level design and a short cut scene with dialogues. Some intensified combat and in-depth level area exploration is what the developers had promised.


Diablo III Screenshots Show Up


After the BlizzCast that involved Diablo community manager Bornakk interviewed World of Warcraft game director Tom Chilton, Diablo III game director Jay Wilson, and lead designer for StarCraft II Dustin Browder.



Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2 Screenshots Seen


EA showed off screenshots of their upcoming game Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2 games for anticipating gamers to ogle. More engaging game play is expected despite of the fact that number of maximum players has been reduced to 24. 
 


Blizzard Working on Fifth Game


Blizzard is working on a new fifth game IP which is not related to any of their earlier phenomenal hits. Nothing related to World of Warcraft: Wrath of Lich King, Diablo II or StarCraft II.
