Almost two months after its initial announcement, Samsung has finally bought its latest high-end phone, the S8300 Ultra Touch to India.

The S8300 happens to be the world's first AMOLED touch screen phone featuring an 8-megapixel camera. First seen just before the Mobile World Congress 2009 (MWC) back in February, we were unsure of the phone's arrival date in India. The phone features a large 7.2 cm, scratch resistant, AMOLED display and is just 12.7mm thin.

The phone features an 8 megapixel camera unit with dual power LED flash and smile shot mode. Other features include GPS navigation, geo-tagging via the GPS chip that allows you to tag photos with geographic information, 30fps VGA video recording and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. The Samsung Ultra Touch provides users a tweaked Touch Wiz interface with support for Mobile widgets as well. The Widgets can be dragged and placed on the screen for one-click access to your favorite applications. As for storage, there is 80 MB of onboard memory, with support for Micro SD cards up to 16GB.

Samsung now has a wide range of high-end, touchscreen devices with advanced imaging abilities with the likes of the i900 Omnia, F480, the Pixon and now, the S8300 Ultra making the company a force to reckon with in this arena. All these devices are 3G capable.

Separately, Samsung said it has tied up with BSNL to offer the F480, L700 J800 and S7330 with a 3G Bundle that entails a free sim card, free airtime and free data downloads for pre paid and post paid customers.

Samsung S8300 UltraTouch has been priced at Rs. 27,500 and is on sale now.

The phone has a look of any other samsung phone, sumsung really needs to work on its creativity. If it majorly promotes its 8 MP camera i doubt people will see a valuable proposition.
