Electronic Arts' legendary racing video game Need For Speed's next installment - Need for Speed SHIFT - has finally got a release date. EA has officially announced that NFS SHIFT will be released in North America on Sept. 22 and in Europe on Sept. 17. The game is expected to hit Indian stores within a month after its release. EA had announced three new NFS series games back in January.
NFS SHIFT is touted to be a simulation based racer game and boasts of pumping "hyper reality" with a cockpit view backed by physics based driving tactics. The game has been developed by Slightly Mad Studios, the folks behind games like GT Legend and GTR 2 with Black Box Studios and Patrick Soderlund. The PSP version of Need For Speed SHIFT is being developed by EA's Bright Light Studio.
The trailer for NFS SHIFT is already available on Xbox Live as per Major Nelson's blog.
EA is also expected to release Need For Speed Nitro for Nintendo Wii and DS platforms. Also, a Massive Multiplayer Online game Need For Speed World is expected for the PC platform.
