With the announcement of its new N310 netbook, Samsung will now join the high-end netbook segment. Samsung is expected to launch the N310 in Korea, Asia, Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States and North America soon.
The Samsung N310 has a pebble look that eliminates the LCD frame and gives it a glass LCD look, like the unibody MacBook Pros. The N310 has a 10.1-inch LCD screen and its hardware specifications include unspecified Intel Atom processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM and 160GB HDD for storage. It also boasts of a battery life of 11 hours.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and WiBRO. Also included is a 1.3megapixel webcam and three USB ports.

Though Samsung has positioned this netbook as 'high-end', it hasn't specified whether graphics is included or not. Also, WiBRO is a wireless broadband Internet standard developed by South Koreans and won't be available in all countries across the globe. Technically speaking, the N310 will have Wi-Fi connectivity with 802.11b/g/e where 802.11e stands for WiBRO standard. The N310 has a chiclet style keyboard like the one found on the unibody MacBook Pros and HP Voodoo Envy 133.
Acer too is expected to unveil its high-end netbook from the Aspire One series at the Computex Taipei starting from June 2. However, details about the pricing have not been disclosed yet.
