Electronic Arts has confirmed that BioWare's Mass Effect 2 will arrive for Microsoft platforms in early 2010. Speculation about Mass Effect 2 hitting PlayStation 3 was put to rest after Electronic Arts announced the game for PC and Xbox 360 platform.
The first Mass Effect installment was released in 2007 for Xbox 360 only and was brought on the PC platform last year. In Mass Effect 2, humans will face "greater peril" following the defeat of Saren's evil army of Geth soldiers.
Earlier, there were rumors about details of Mass Effect 2 being leaked, but those details seem too good to be true.
BioWare CEO and general manager, Dr. Ray Muzyka said that Mass Effect 2 will have "intensified combat and expanded weapon options as well as increased depth of planet exploration."
This means we can expect more cinematic sequences and lots of eye-catching action. But we'll have to wait to see Commander Shepherd's last mission. Why? Because this is the second installment of the trilogy and the details of the last episode (read game) of the trilogy will depend on the last mission.
