Some features, which we anticipated but weren't included in the iPhone OS 3.0.

Miss 1: Flash Support

Apple still hasn't announced any details about Flash support on the iPhone. Flash is a feature sorely missed while browsing Flash-based sites over the iPhone or iPod Touch. Last month, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen revealed in an interview that Adobe is working on an iPhone version of Flash.

Since Flash's rival Silverlight is being pushed by Microsoft to the web developer community, Adobe considers it a serious concern. If Apple allows Silverlight support, then Adobe's Flash will lose its Web market to Microsoft.

Developers on the other hand feel that Flash on the iPhone isn't going to do any good. A developer named Gabi from Tel Aviv commented,  "Flash is nice, but it will kill iPhone development as all programmers will then use Flash to deliver their apps to the iPhone and PC/Mac at the same time, but it will reduce applications' high-end operativity."

Basically, the iPhone platform will get flooded with native apps as well as Web apps developed on the iPhone version of Flash. If that ever happens, then expect all those creepy and buggy flash files and games to hit the iPhone platform. Also, it might open up vulnerability loopholes since Adobe has been facing security issues with their Flash Player 10.

Big deal... these are all items that should have been included with incremental upgrades. Maybe they needed a package to make the 3GS appeal to the masses compared to other phones. That's a valid concept, but many of these features are a day late and a dollar short. I

I'm glad that SMS (text messaging) now includes landscape typing mode along with text-forwarding (finally!), and also the ability to delete individual messages in a chat thread. However, a ‘resend’ button when texting would be nice as well.

uh havent we missed that iphones new sdk will enable better apps and hardware sync possibilities? i think that is very good for the future... i mean the hardware sync features are new and i think that this is wht the future is all abt! and a new way of using cellphones. samsung launches a pico projector phone and everyones gaga... but i think all the customization can be done by a good software and i think thats wht apple has done here... we should definitely appreciate that.

"Apple tested a popular AIM client with the background processing function and found 80 percent loss in battery life. " This was tested not on an iPhone, but on WinMobiles and Androids.
