Spotlight - Search
Mac OS X users would be aware of the Spotlight technology. Apple has now ported the Spotlight search technology in iPhone's home screen for the system-wide search possibility. After bringing search in contacts, Apple adds search to all key applications like Mail, iPod (Music Player) app, Calendar and Notes. In mail, search extends to the server via IMAP support if not found on the device.
Spotlight literally overshadows the Searcher app available via Cydia on Jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch.

- Notes syncing to Windows based PC and Mac systems. - Bluetooth A2DP usable after Bluetooth on second generation iPod Touch gets unlocked on applying iPhone OS 3.0 update. - Peer-to-peer connection through Bonjour over Bluetooth - Auto-login for WiFi Spots - YouTube account support - iTunes account creation - Form AutoFill - Phishing protection - Shake to Shuffle function previously found in fourth generation iPod Nano - Background notifications in the apps - Streaming Video and audio as per the connection to the apps. - Turn-by-turn directional maps will be available after developers bring their own map features in the apps. - More hardware accessories would be connectable through the dock or Bluetooth. - In-game voice can be used which calls for more massive multiplayer online apps with in-game voice chat support.
The iPhone OS 3.0 beta SDK is available for developers starting today and the final version is expected to be publicly available in summer, say somewhere in June or maybe before that.
