Firefox has unveiled the latest Beta version of Mozilla Firefox. Yes, you heard it right! Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 is now available for download.

Intended for beta testers and developers, this "milestone" edition of the browser incorporates quite a few new additions and enhancements into the earlier version. The focus of this version would be on testing the core functionalities provided by additions in the previous edition of the browser. Keeping that in mind, further feature additions might have not been on the priority list with this release. However, there have been some improvements in the form of the following:

  • Improved the new Private Browsing Mode, including the ability to "Forget This Site" from the History sidebar.
  • Improved performance and stability with the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine.
  • Improvements to web worker thread support.
  • New native JSON support.
  • Improvements to the Gecko layout engine, including speculative parsing for faster content rendering.
  • Support for new web technologies such as the
